Before we attempt to identify specific goals we intend to accomplish, it is important to get in the right mindset by creating an intention. Intentions help build awareness of the actions necessary to make changes to our behaviors. With our intentions we are able to set small steps or actions that we can take on our journey to achieving our goals.
Intentions are open-ended, flexible, and realistic. Since they do not have an end, intentions help us recognize new opportunities that fit the life we want. For example, while on the journey to achieving our goals or objectives, if there is a misstep or something is not working for us, we are able to keep our mind focused by adjusting our intentions.
By setting intentions and being aware of what works or doesn’t work for us on our journey of change, our mind becomes aligned with the actions we set for changing our behavior.
